Robert Altman, además de reconocido cineasta,  fue quien dirigió el equipo de fotógrafos de los Rolling Stone (a fines de los 60s). A él se deben estas imágenes, tomadas en San Francisco,1967. Al respecto aquellos míticos tiempos, los sixties,  Altman manifestó:

“For me, the sixties is the time of Sgt Pepper, Woodstock, the Summer of Love, be-ins, anti-war protests, and everything else in between,” ... “Part of the magic of the sixties was that we knew there were thousands and thousands, perhaps millions of us, spread beyond the United States and all across the world...”
